ScoutTed began as our personal mission and has grown into a shared, community-powered resource. It’s now a dedicated platform to map, verify, and share Southeast Asia’s best pet-friendly van life spots and homestays. This work is driven by a unique combination of skills.
Huyen – The Local Insight & Community Director
Huyen is the soul and strategic compass. Born and raised in Vietnam, she provides the indispensable local knowledge, language skills, and cultural connection that transform ScoutTed from an outsider’s guide into an authentic, trusted resource. Her role is crucial for genuine verification, building trust with local partners, and ensuring the platform grows with a deep understanding of the region it serves.
Douwe – The Systems Architect & Expedition Lead
Douwe is the builder and navigator, focused on turning vision into a reliable system. After eight years exploring Asia, his Dutch practicality and love for meticulous planning are dedicated to a dual build: creating a safe, self-sufficient rolling home, and architecting the scalable data and mapping framework that powers the ScoutTed platform.
