Our Mission: We’re on a mission to pioneer the definitive van life roadmap for Southeast Asia—starting with Vietnam. We’re scouting the routes, documenting the real-world logistics, and building the honest, practical guide for pet-friendly adventure that we searched for and never found.
Our Current Chapter – The Scoutted Roadmap: Right now, our headquarters is a basecamp in Da Nang, Vietnam. We’re here launching “The Scoutted Roadmap”—the essential, on-the-ground research phase where we turn unknown trails into documented paths. This means gathering crucial, firsthand data on everything from border crossings and vehicle regulations to pet-friendly spots and hidden campsites, all to build a trustworthy resource for the community.
Filling a Critical Gap: While you can find van life stories from Europe or the Americas, almost no one is creating a dedicated, start-to-finish guide for navigating the unique landscapes and challenges of Southeast Asia on four wheels with pets. That’s the comprehensive map we’re here to draw, combining our love for authentic exploration, hands-on building, and our two original feline co-pilots, Scout & Ted.
🗺️ Meet the Mapping Crew
👫 Douwe & Huyen – A Dutch-Vietnamese team on a mission to map uncharted territory. Douwe handles the terrain and mechanics, Huyen documents and creates the guide, and together we’re pioneering a new path for pet-friendly van life in Southeast Asia.
Our mission is to scout, document, and prove that long-term, cat-friendly adventure in Vietnam and beyond is not just a dream—it’s a navigable route we’re committed to charting.
🐱 Scout – The Head of Reconnaissance. First to investigate new landscapes, last to call it a day. Her motto: “Every dirt road leads to a discovery if you’re curious enough.” She ensures no promising trail goes un-sniffed.
🐱 Ted – The Chief Morale Officer. Prefers a stable sunbeam to a bumpy road, but his appetite for exploration (and treats) is undeniable. Professional purrer and in-house quality inspector for all basecamp comforts.
Our combined skills (field mechanics + expedition storytelling) aren’t just for building a van—they’re our essential toolkit for building the first comprehensive roadmap from the ground up.
