Chapter 7 - The Call to Co-Create

This Isn't Just Our Map

It’s Yours. Here’s How to Join the Movement. An official invitation to become a ScoutTed co-pilot. The map for Southeast Asia’s pet-friendly van life needs you to help build it. Discover how your contributions create a better resource for everyone.

⛽️ fuel the mission👋 Join the Community

In our last chapter, we laid out our Environmental & Ethical Blueprint for ScoutTed. It outlines the how and why behind the map we’re building. Today, we’re making the most important point of all: This map isn’t meant to be built by us, for you. It’s meant to be built with you.

ScoutTed exists for one reason: to solve a shared problem—the lack of a trusted, pet-friendly travel resource for Southeast Asia. Solving a community problem requires a community solution. So, this is your official invitation to become a co-pilot.

Why Join? Be Part of the First Chapter

Van life in Southeast Asia isn’t a trend yet; it’s a frontier. By contributing now, you’re not just using a guide—you’re helping write the first edition. You’re ensuring the resource that gets built reflects what travelers actually need, spotlights the hidden gems you discover, and champions the responsible, pet-welcome ethos we all care about from the very beginning.

How You Can Help Build It (It’s Easier Than You Think)

You don’t need a fancy van or a YouTube channel to make a difference. The backbone of this map is real-world information. Here’s how you can contribute right now:

  • Share a Spot: Know a fantastic, pet-friendly campsite, a mechanic who saved your trip, or a cafe with a water bowl outside? Submit it to our directory. A single pin from you can help dozens of future travelers.

  • Share Knowledge: Comment on our blog or in the Facebook Group with a tip. Did you find a great biodegradable pet shampoo? Learn a trick for keeping your van cool? That collective wisdom is the guide.

  • Share the Mission: Follow our journey, talk about the project, and tell other travelers. Awareness is fuel. The more people who know about ScoutTed, the more useful the map becomes for everyone.

Our Promise to You, Our Co-Pilots

In return for your trust and contributions, we promise to:

  1. Be Transparent: We’ll share our process, lessons learned, and challenges.

  2. Be Stewards: We’ll verify information, advocate for responsible practices, and ensure credit is given where it’s due.

  3. Build a True Community: This will be a space for support, shared stories, and collective problem-solving—not just a one-way street.
